Alix Joyal
Alix Joyal started quilting when she was 12 years old and simply never stopped. She is a self taught quilter and one that has never confined herself to the "traditional quilt rules" of most quilters.
She started making Memory Quilts after she was featured on NH Chronicle, a New Hampshire TV program, in 2009, for her contemporary and exciting recycled fabric quilts.  She now creates one of a kind memory quilts and
modern family heirlooms out of her Strafford, NH studio.
She graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC with her BS in Textile Development and Marketing as well as in Fashion Buying and Merchandising. She has traveled the world studying textiles and uses that knowledge and education in her everyday quilting.
Alix owns Mamaka Mills Contemporary Custom Quilts located in Strafford, NH.
